Why I built a different kind of coach

I brought Baelor home in late January 2026. He's a Golden Bernese Mountain Dog — high-energy, easily distracted, smart enough to figure out when I'm bluffing. I started looking for training resources immediately.

I'm not knocking GoodPup. Weekly sessions with a real trainer who reviews your dog's profile and watches you work in real time — that's valuable, especially early on when you genuinely don't know what you're doing. But it didn't fit how Baelor and I actually train.

The timing problem. Training moments happen when they happen. Baelor's worst recall failures don't schedule themselves for Thursdays at 2pm.
